New Values

Be sure to take advantage of local businesses offering special values. New this month, East Cove Restaurant offers a special discount to website visitors.

Travel Tips: Road Work Ahead

Road work is a particularly sensitive topic in the North Country these days. Not only is the well-planned construction on I-90 in and around Albany in full swing this summer, but heavy rains have caused mud slides along the Northway, I-87 north of Lake George. Be sure to stay informed of the latest traffic information. Our favorite website is local television news website, Capital News 9. Check out their traffic information to plan your trip to be safe and hassle-free well ahead of time. And another tip - they offer great graphics and weather web cameras, so you can get a glimpse at your forecast while you are there!

Special Event: Help a local family rebuild — and improve your swing!

If you are in Lake George Sunday, June 26, be sure to stop by Lumberjack Pass on Route 9 near the outlets between 9am and noon. They will be hosting a fundraising effort for a local family devastated by the recent mudslides. Putt around a little while helping a local family rebuild! What could be better! $10 to play during this time, with 100% to benefit the family. Donations of any amount accepted at any time at Lumberjack Pass.

Value of the month:

Try planning an inexpensive night out with the family. Every Wednesday night in Lake George Village, there is a Summer Concert Series. And every Thursday, beginning July 14, there are fireworks. Pack a pinic dinner and a comfortable chair for each member of the family and spend an evening in Shepard Park! Forgot the cooler? There are plenty of restaurants in town, most are family-friendly, to grab something to please everyone.
